This tool handle is for a woodturning chisel. Some woodturning tools are available as just the metal portion - sans handle - with the idea being that the user would turn their own. Fortunately I had other (handled) tools, which prevented a chicken-and-egg sort of dilemma. This handle was simply a piece of cherry turned between centers. The trickiest part was finding something to use for the ferrule at the end. I finally dug out a spare brass plumbing fitting that was about the right size. I used a small metalworking lathe to remove the inside threads and the outside hex shape, to end up with a 1" diameter round brass tube. This was pressed on to the end of the handle. The ferrule prevents the wood from splitting when the tool is inserted into the handle.
