We wanted a mirror for the front entrance of our house, and so for a few years we kept our eyes open for something that we liked and more importantly would fit into the somewhat narrow space we had for it. Despite the staggering number of mirrors that seem to be available, we hadn't managed to find anything suitable so I eventually decided to make something that would fit our needs.
This one was made to fit in the 18-20" width we had available, with a 24" mirror height so that it was suitable for both myself (tall) and my spouse (/tall) to use. It consists of a basic rectangular frame with built-up layers of semi-randomly sized and spaced walnut tiles. An off-the shelf 12"-wide mirror cut to length was used for the functional portion of the mirror. There are a few construction details
here.
