We had one seating spot in the living room without a place to set a drink, mostly because there wasn't enough space for a typical side table. But one evening when we had some friends over and I had nowhere to set my drink, I was told "You should make a table". Hmmm...make a side table...I suppose that might be possible. So I added it to my in-cranium wood-working project queue and eventually it came up.
The table was to be fairly small and I considered a number of designs but didn't hit on anything that really struck my fancy. However I liked the
plant table I had made a few years ago and eventually decided to just replicate that design, scaled down a bit. Like that one, this table was mostly
turned on the lathe and like that one is also made from cherry.
