I had cut a thin piece of wood from something I was making once, and was impressed with how flexible it was. I decided to use that property and made these toast tongs for removing smoking-hot items from the toaster. It is especially useful for scone-like biscuits that are too short to stick up past the toaster top, and which tend to be moist enough to retain lots of heat. I also placed a magnet in the center section so I could just stick the tongs to the side of the fridge. I made a couple sets for other people as well, since they are pretty easy to make. Then 20 years later I made another
batch.
