Glass Stand
My Aunt received a stained-glass piece that she liked, but she didn't have any place to display it. I figured it needed a stand. She has lots of wood in her living room where this was to go, so I made a wooden holder that could sit on her mantle. I chose the Honey Wood since it had a nice light brown colour - I prefer to use wood in it's natural colour rather than staining it. Having said that, I used a black dye on the back of the holder, but it's just plywood, so it hardly counts as wood. I ended up with a stylized sunburst pattern for the "legs" of the holder to sort of compliment the flower motif of the stained glass. And yes, it sits flat in real life - it was sitting on a curved surface when I photographed it, so one leg in the rear view is not touching the surface.
