This is the third and hopefully last of a set of three mismatched antique-style end tables made for the living room. It is closely modeled on one of our actual antique end tables, with a shaped top, turned half-legs, plank ends, and an integral two-sided magazine rack. This one didn't actually need a top made, since there was a spare one still kicking around from the first end table that I had done.
The design on one of the ends replicates the decorative grooves found on the original table, but I wanted something a bit more ornate for the other end. That one has a circular Celtic knot pattern carved in relief to give it a bit more character. As with the other tables in the "set", this one is assembled with glue and dowels, with the walls of the magazine rack being mortised into the ends. There are some construction details
here.
