Flower
I had happened across an image of a stylized wooden flower while searching for something else a while ago. It was an intarsia piece which of course is the practise of forming an image using different types of wood. Some intarsia pieces form flat images, sometimes with a depth illusion and others like this one are non-flat. While I've never had an interest in intarsia, I liked the look of the one I had seen and other similar pieces that showed up when I searched more specifically. So I thought I'd make one of my own.

Construction was pretty much as you might expect; make a bunch of pieces from different woods and glue them together. Since the flower used the same shapes in the six "petals", I made a pattern for each and hoped to be able to use those help shape the pieces consistently. That didn't work out so I ended up shaping the pieces individually.
