Riser - Nut Feeder
One of our bird feeders is a home-made job hand-crafted original that holds peanuts and is mounted on a metal garden obelisk. Over the years the surrounding vegetation has grown taller so it's becoming difficult to see the birds. I decided the feeder just needed to be raised eight inches or so and made this wooden riser to accomplish that.

I opted for a sort of girder-like look with a callous disregard for the difficulty my future self would have with the actual fabrication. Ultimately I ended up doing what feels a bit like cheating by cutting it into several pieces, shaping them individually and gluing them back together. So take that, past self. The shape conforms to the taper of the obelisk and it was painted black to match as well.
