I'd run across a photo of a clay vessel with this woven pattern that I thought looked interesting. Since I admit to being a bit of a sucker for both pierced vessels and regular patterns, I thought I'd give this wooden version a go.
As with other vessels of this type that I've made, it was
formed from a hollowed turning which was then selectively pierced and carved.
