This is the third in my group of completely unmatched sun room plant stands. As before the design is based on a photo I'd seen, in this case of a "log motif" stand that I thought looked interesting, if a bit rustic. That particular specimen was made from Teak but while my logs are rather more domestic, the look is largely similar.
The
construction was of course a straight-forward matter of gluing branch pieces to a cylindrical form and adding a solid top but I will modestly note that I have an uncanny ability to make things way more complex in search of a particular look. In this case it involved removal of the bark, hollowing the log insides and rounding the outsides. With all that it took a bizarre amount of sanding, so much that I decided I should build a better air purifier for the shop, although that's a task for another day.
