This is essentially a spoon with a custom geometry. We (or at least the me part of we) prefer to use a tall pot to sauté things since it can be stirred with little risk of flinging pieces out of the pot, plus there is less splatter on the cooktop. However, serving things out of a tall pot is more problematic. We have a reasonable range of cooking spoons/flippers/spatulas but none really have the correct geometry for the job, especially when we want to serve some specific portion of the contents.
But just as we began to despair, who should show up but INeedANewProject Man! Undaunted by the specificity of the requirements and the questionable utility of a single-purpose utensil, he leapt into action! Product searches were performed, ergonomic analysis were executed, sketches were done, developmental prototypes were built and in less time that it takes to figure out what his name means, he was
carving away at some maple.
Thankfully INANP Man was thorough enough to ensure that the oddly-shaped utensil would actually fit in the designated kitchen drawer (since it was close) and I've got to say that it works pretty much perfectly for the intended purpose.
