After making a wall decoration involving
a trio of scroll-saw-made rose blossoms, I received a request for a stemmed version to be given as a gift. We decided that the blossom should be
made from the dark red Padauk. The original blossom was wide and flat-bottomed so I ended up narrowing and deepening the shape to better fit the rose-on-a-stem figure we were aiming for. To the blossom was added an only-slightly-evil-looking thorny stem made from African Blackwood which then mounted into a small Rosewood base.
