This piece shares some features with the
Irregular Vessel I made last year including being non-round, symmetric and constructed of multiple laminations. The plywood layers in that one were interesting, but on this one I thought I'd see how solid wood looked. This one also has more obvious curvature to the sides and a smaller base.
As before, the
construction process was to make walnut and maple outlines that were the appropriate size and shape for each layer, glue them together, and then grind and sand to shape.
